Create this mural in 6 simple steps

Follow the steps, take your time, and discover how much fun it is to create something unique yourself.

1: Choose the base color

Use your current wall color as the base, or paint the wall Titanium Buff Light first.

2: Determine the composition

First, outline the blue area with a pastel chalk. In this design, this area is about 2/5 of the total wall height. Next, outline the ochre-yellow area. The bottom edge is located at about 1/4 of the wall’s height. The width is about 2/3 of the wall’s width, and the height is about 1/3 of the wall’s height.

3: Draw the circle

The circle has a diameter of about 2/5 of the wall’s width. Place the center slightly to the right of and slightly below the center of the ochre-yellow area. Draw the circle using the nail-and-string technique.

4: Paint the color areas

Carefully mask off the blue area and press the tape down firmly. For extra-clean lines, you can seal the edges with Acrylic Medium Mat. Then paint the area with Brilliant Blue Deep.Repeat this process for the ochre-yellow area.

5: Paint the circle

Mask off the outer edge of the circle with curved tape and seal the edges with Acrylic Medium Mat. Paint the circle entirely white. Once the paint is dry, mask off diagonal stripes at a 45-degree angle. Maintain a consistent distance between the stripes equal to the width of the tape. Seal the edges again and paint the open spaces black. Remove the tape while the paint is still wet.

6: Evaluating the final result

Step back and take a critical look at your mural one last time. Touch up where necessary.  Then place your furniture in the desired spots and enjoy your creation.
