Create this mural in 5 easy steps

Follow the steps, take your time, and discover how much fun it is to create something unique yourself.

1: Design the composition and tape off the outlines

Use the design as a guide and, if necessary, sketch it on paper to scale for your wall. Then trace it onto the wall using pastel chalk. You can do this freehand, with the help of a projector, or using the grid technique.

2: Start painting

Work from light to dark. Mask off the shape in Titanium Buff Light with tape and press the edges down firmly so that no paint can seep underneath. For an extra-smooth finish, you can first apply a thin layer of acrylic medium along the tape line. Then pour the chosen color into a paint tray and paint the shape using a roller or brush.

3: Paint shape by shape

Repeat this step for each shape and color. Work carefully and take your time when masking; clean tape lines are essential for this design. Remove the tape while the paint is still wet to create a sharp edge. Then let the paint dry thoroughly before painting an adjacent shape.
